KapMorgan repairs cracked, missing and moldy grout and caulk lines across Los Angeles homes, on floors, backsplashes and around tubs and showers. Grout and caulk are the first line of defense against water getting under tile, and once either one fails, water finds its way underneath and causes damage that costs far more to fix than the grout line itself. we confirm the exact price on site, and most sections finish in a single visit. Every estimate is free.

Grout & Caulking: Prices

Regrouting a section of floor or wall tile starts at $90. Replacing a single caulk line, such as around a tub or a countertop backsplash, starts at $70. Doing both together on the same job starts at $140. we confirm the exact price on site. Every estimate is free. $150 minimum per visit, labor only. Several small tasks in one visit are added together.

What’s Included

Problems We Fix

Grout is porous by nature, and once it cracks or wears thin, water works its way underneath the tile and can reach the subfloor or wall board before there is any visible sign on the surface. On a floor, this often shows up first as a soft or slightly springy spot; in a kitchen or bathroom wall, it can lead to mold growing behind the tile long before it is visible through the grout line. Regrouting early, as soon as cracking starts, is a small job — waiting until water damage sets in turns it into a much bigger one.

Caulk and grout are not interchangeable even though they look similar: grout is rigid and fills the space between tiles that do not move relative to each other, while caulk is flexible and used where two different surfaces meet, such as a tub and the surrounding tile, so it can flex slightly without cracking. Using grout where caulk belongs (or the reverse) is a common DIY mistake that fails again within months, so we use the right material in the right place rather than whatever is faster to apply.

Grout & Caulking FAQ

Regrouting a section starts at $90. A caulk line replacement starts at $70, and both together start at $140.
Grout is rigid and fills the space between tiles. Caulk is flexible and used where two different surfaces meet, like a tub and tile.
Grout is porous and can hold moisture in a wet area like a shower. Mold-resistant grout and regular cleaning help, but old, worn grout eventually needs replacing.
It stops new water from getting in through the grout, but if water has already reached the subfloor or wall, that damage needs to be addressed separately.
Yes, we match the new grout or caulk to the surrounding tile and fixtures as closely as possible.
Grout typically needs 24 to 72 hours before the area gets wet again. Caulk cures within a similar window depending on the product.

Yes. Once the new grout has cured, we can apply a penetrating sealer so it resists stains and is easier to keep clean. Existing grout that is still in good shape can be cleaned and sealed on its own.

Yes. Besides tubs and showers, we replace worn caulk along kitchen and bathroom countertops and backsplashes, and around window and door trim, using a caulk suited to each surface.
